The World Day against Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) organized by the expert team of the MMA Pulmology Clinic was marked at the Military Medical Academy.

All interested citizens had the opportunity to learn more about the diagnosis of this disease during the consultative examinations which symptoms such as coughing or difficulty breathing often become unnoticed. After the survey, over 20 citizens went through a specialist examination and a spirometry test as the gold standard in the treatment of this respiratory illness. Eight patients were diagnosed with COPD and were referred for further treatment.

World Day against COPD is traditionally marked at the MMA with preventive screening campaigns aimed at informing citizens about the importance of prevention, early detection, and proper treatment of this disease.
